this piece was created for the human rights organization WITNESS, and illustrates the work which WITNESS does. two voices compete with one another: a distorted, angry, fearful voice which represents the human rights violations which WITNESS fights against, and a soothing, serene, always present voice which represents the organization itself. they compete with each other during most of the piece, then there is resolution when both voices drop out and a simple, pure voice rings out to close the piece, representing peace and the absence of fear.
